I’ve been posting a daily image here for nearly a year now, and have been very happy with WordPress, apart from one thing — it’s not a dedicated photoblogging service, and so I’m only able to show my images at a very small size.
So, from today, I am moving the photoblog to a new site at
If you view my site via a reader, please change the subscription to the new address. I intend to continue posting a new image every day; I’ll also gradually upload my archive to the new site so that I can keep everything in one place.
Thank you for all the visits here (19,200 at the last count), and for all the comments (exactly 500 over 365 posts). You can still comment on archived images on this site, but please visit my new site if you would like to comment on any new shots.

There’s a housing estate close to where I work that’s great for street photography. This is the first of two or three images from there; I’ll probably return there in the future for some more shots.

I was going to post a shot combining a London bus and post box, but I think this one of the post box on its own worked better. What do you think? The bus shot is here.

At lot of my shots have the subject placed in the centre, contrary to the “rules” of composition. I tried composing differently this time, but still preferred the centred shot.
There’s another composition here… please tell me which one you prefer.
It’s the Church of the Good Shepherd and the St Mary-le-bone Church Institute and Club in Marylebone.

Three very different tower blocks; on the one on the right you can see the cleaners that were featured in yesterday’s shot.

Well for the last month or so I’ve been auto-posting archive shots whilst I took time out to concentrate on my new-born daughter, who arrived about a month ago. I’m now back posting new shots; time is now at even more of a premium but I am going to try hard to post something new most days.
These two shots sum up what I think is the general perception of Christmas with family, and New Year with friends. That’s Igglepiggle on the left, by the way — I am learning about these things already
