Seagulls following our boat along the fjords in Norway. I was pleasantly surprised how the shots came out — all nice and sharp with bright highlights around the edges of the wings.
All Canon 400D, 1/1250sec, f/9 or f/10, ISO 400, focal length 50mm. No cropping on any.

I have just returned from a week in Norway, so will be posting a few images from there over the next few days.
This is my favourite shot of the trip; I just think it’s funny how the couple seem so disinterested in the amazing waterfall that their train is passing.
It’s Kjosfossen on the Myrdal—Flåm line, and I underexposed by two stops to get some detail in the waterfall.

At first glance it looks like this building has a complicated intercom, but actually it’s just stencilled onto the wall. Luckily the doorbell is real.

I am away for a few days again, but just before leaving I realised I didn’t have enough images lined up to cover the days I was away. Being short of time, I set myself a little challenge — to get the required shots in one lunchbreak. So the next four shots were all taken in the space of half an hour last Monday lunchtime.
Here I liked the way the three people on the advert appeared to be peeping over the hoardings.

I couldn’t spend a week along Hadrian’s Wall and not take any photos of signs… this is at Brocolitia, temple of Mithas. The little red heart had been cut out and stuck to the roadsign by someone.

I spent last week walking the Hadrian’s Wall path, all the way from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend. Most of the time the weather was overcast and, because I couldn’t carry a tripod or keep stopping to wait for better skies etc, all of the following shots are handheld and on-the-go.
These first three are fairly typical views of the Wall, and were all taken en route somewhere between Once Brewed and Brocolitia. The middle shot is of Milecastle 37.

Freddy Eastwood has finally left my team, Southend, and joined Wolves. He’s been the club’s biggest star for a long time, scoring 62 goals in 129 games.
This was taken at a match at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff in 2005.
