This is St Nicholas Church in the village of Canewdon, Essex, which is supposedly haunted.
I liked the little glowing light at the window, and was hoping someone would appear silhouetted in it, but unfortunately no-one was around (not even a ghost

Boris Johnson today won the vote to stand as the Conservative Party’s candidate in next year’s election for London mayor. I work in London but as I don’t live there I don’t get a vote. If I did I most certainly wouldn’t be “backing Boris”.
It looks like he has a good PR campaign though; I spotted these posters in central London yesterday.

Bright lights in the tackier side of Southend’s seafront.
I set the saturation to maximum in-camera, a slow shutter speed, and panned slowly.

One lunchtime I went out with Christopher247 to take a few shots; we couldn’t decide what to take pictures of, so he set me a theme — ‘circles’ — to interpret however I wanted. This was what I came up with in the half hour or so we had.

This is a little different from my usual style of shot; I thought I’d try something new. More from Praed Street at The Way We See It.

As I left work last night, there was a beautiful pink sky; I had 4 or 5 minutes to take some pictures before it disappeared. Although I have brightened this shot a little, it’s not by as much as you might think — the sky was actually quite pink. I set the exposure bias to -2/3 to make it a little darker, and used the camera’s user-defined style setting to make it more saturated.
Also notice the helicopter to the right of the BT Tower.

This was taken in Lavenham, Suffolk, this weekend.

These are my final shots of graffiti on the back of Chalkwell station.

The wall is the back of Chalkwell station on the footpath towards Leigh, and it faces out across the Thames estuary. I think the cyclist had stopped to take in the sea view.

On Sunday morning we took a little stroll along the seafront from Westcliff to Leigh, which takes about 40 minutes. Over the next few days I’ll be posting a little series of shots I took along the way.
This couple are enjoying the view over the Thames estuary, Leigh-on-Sea.
